These are the two organizations I support and feel strongly about. The National Parks Conservation Association is the independent protector of our national parks. Their services are in demand more than ever.

I have been following Dr. Neal Barnard the founder of Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) for a while. He gives no nonsense, easy to understand guidance on how a plant based diet supports longevity, health and high performance. PCRM also advocates for animal rights particularly when there are non-animal options to experimentation or instruction.

Read more about these causes. Please join me in supporting their work.

National Parks Conservation Association

Since 1919, the National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA) has been the independent, nonpartisan voice working to strengthen and protect America's favorite places.

The NPCA is the voice of America’s national parks, protecting and preserving the nation’s most iconic and inspirational places for present and future generations. The organization draws upon program and policy experts, committed volunteers, staff lobbyists, community organizers, and communications specialists to inform and inspire the public and to influence decision makers to ensure that our National Parks are well protected.

The NPCA is dedicated to protecting Your Nature. Read more on their website and support them here.

Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine

The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine (PCRM) is leading a revolution in medicine—putting a new focus on health and compassion. Their efforts are dramatically changing the way doctors treat chronic diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, obesity, and cancer. By putting prevention over pills, they get doctors to empower their patients to take control of their own health. They emphasize a plant based diet as the optimal way to meet nutritional needs.

As a vegan and someone who wants to see all people be more compassionate I agree with their message and approach. I want the National Parks Marathon Project to make people believe they can take control and feel that obesity and poor health is inevitable. Because it is not.

The website includes information about their programs and resources on how change your diet to kickstart your health.
